We arrived a little late and the room still wasnu2019t ready when we got there. So we waited on the stairs for a while for the room to be cleaned. everything reeked of cigarette smoke so my throat closed up during that trip ( Iu2019m allergic). However, all of Athens smells like smoke hahaha. People smoked outside the window and we couldnu2019t close the balcony doors because the air conditioner didnu2019t work. The staff was nice. Close to attractions. Served its purpose in that aspect.

Stayed here for a couple nights in Athens and wasn't too bad. The staff was very friendly which helped but there is no real common area since it is a hotel that has been repurposed as a hostel. Location was decent as it was not a far walk to things but it isn't the nicest neighborhood. Also the rooms don't have outlets, just one power strip which had 3 plugs for 6 people. Also beds are not very comfortable. All in all decent for the cheap price but wouldn't want to stay more than a few nights

Omonia is not the prettiest neighborhood in Athens, but it is very near to metro station and the city itself. You are about 10 min from Acropolis by metro. The reception is very helpful and they are working 24/7 and they are THE NICEST PEOPLE EVER. There is a shop in front of the hotel for the basic necessities. AC as well works perfectly. The room is a bit old but clean and well maintained. The bathroom was shared and not the best experience in life. Overall, the stay is worth because of the staff that is helpful and kind.

The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating with us when we arrived early for the day. We had a twin private room and while it was spacious and had a lot of amenities we didnu2019t expect such as a desk, closet, and sink; the bed was one of the most uncomfortable of my trip. Bathrooms donu2019t have toilet paper but thereu2019s some in your room just donu2019t forget. They advertise AC but in our stay it was not turned on and it got quite hard to sleep. Neighborhood is quite sketch but doable.

This place was very nice, clean and definitely in the right price range. I was in a single room with a shared bathroom and there were no problems. No elevator, for those with mobility issues. The staff was very nice but when I left, one called his "friend" cab driver to drive me to the airport instead of me hailing a cab on the street, saying it would be cheaper. It was instead 57 Euros when earlier I was quoted 40 to the airport. That was the only problem I had with the place.

This place was absolutely amazing. It is located in Omonia, which is not the best neighborhood from what I understand. But I felt entirely safe the whole time and the manager, Vasilis, went out of his way to help us with everything that he could. It is an old building, but beautiful on the inside. Everything you need is close and all of the tourist stops are within 20 minutes walking distance. It was cheap, safe, and a great location. Would recommend to anyone heading to Athens on a budget

The bad:
You need to pass through a dangerous part of town in order to get to the hotel. However, the location of the hotel itself is in a safe area. It seems to be located on the border to the dangerous part of town. The shower barrier does not close, making the entire bathroom wet everytime I take a shower.

The good:

There is a guy a the reception for 24 hours. My room had its own shower and a balcony. The room was spacious overall. Shower has adequate heating. In general, the location is also good as it is close to Monastiraki, and from there, it is close to the attractions like the Acropolis.

Prostitution and drug area.
12€ for a bed in 5 people dorm, it is a cheap option. Staff is helpful. Wifi is correct. Only issue(s), no door key, no locker, tiny and dirty room and mattress. No breakfast included when booking.com says it is.

I really like the location because the hostel is located only 20 minutes by walk from Acropolis, from Syntagma square or , if you take metro, only 1 or 2 stops from that places. Close to the hostel there are lot of bars, restorants and fast foods, and lot of them are opened all night. It was really nice experience.

Everything is ok. The personal is really kind, they explained us everything/where to go, where to eat, how to get the beach..The rooms are normal for that price..The air conditioner work, the towels and bedclothes are clear...The location is perfect.. what more we should want for 14 euros per night?

Nothing

After booking myself a room online I caught a taxi to this hostel, only to discover that the guy at reception had double booked my room because he does not check online reservations. When I showed him my booking confirmation I was asked my name 3 times, and had to repeat 3 times that I only wanted to stay for 1 night. The guy offered me his room go 'relax' in and when he took me up there to leave to bags there to which I said no way, he also left the door completely unlocked and I noticed he absolute drunk of alcohol. (Which made sense as to why he asked me my name and how long I wanted to stay so many times). I asked him for the wifi code several times so I could book myself in somewhere else and he kept avoiding the question. I am a girl travelling alone and I have never been in this part of the world before so you can imagine how daunting it was. Luckily I walked over to a hotel across the road who were able to put me in a room for the night. When I told the lady at reception what had happened in the hostel she informed me that another guy/girl had just come in to book a room because their room was also double booked! I emailed hostel bookers to advise them what had happened and ensure I was not going to be charged for a room an they responded back very quickly saying they will investigate. It is a fairly dodgy part of the town but I did not feel safe leaving my hotel as there were a lot of shady looking people hanging around near reception. I felt like I ha a massive sign on my head that said 'tourist' and it's not as though I was carrying around a massive camera or anything, I always do my best to get to blend in. I would not recommend Lozanni hostel to anybody, it was an awful experience.
